ADA PEARL HOLLYMAN 92, of Roseburg, Oregon passed over Friday, January 1, 2010 with her daughter at her side. She was born August 10, 1917 in Las Animas, Bent County, Colorado to parents Ephriam Hopkins and Grace Anna (Zimmerman) Lewis. Ada was the fifth of seven children. On August 19, 1936 Ada married the love of her life, Emmett Hollyman. They moved from Colorado to Oregon in 1937 and settled initially in Waldport and Toledo, Oregon. While they lived on the coast, she had their two daughters Carolyn and Kay. Emmett worked in the timber industry and in 1948 they moved their family to Roseburg, Oregon. Ada loved this area. She always had a large garden, lovely yard and taught the girls to can the produce in the late summer and fall. She worked at Umpqua Valley Hardware then J.J. Newberry's until she retired. Survivors include her brother Roland Lewis; two daughters Carolyn Foster and Kay Kvidera; four grandchildren Jerry Foster of Queretaro, Mexico, Gordon Foster of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Larry Kvidera of Tacoma, Washington and Kathy Endfield of Winchester Bay, Oregon; seven great grandchildren James Walker, Sarah Walker, Brandon Hoskinson, Rebecca Foster, Shania Endfield, Kade Foster, Emily Endfield and numerous nieces and nephews. Ada was preceded in death by her husband Emmett Hollyman, parents Grace and Eph Lewis, brothers Harold Lewis and George Lewis; sisters Martha Gaylor Mynett, Leona Crabtree and Betty Ruth Lewis and grandson David Foster. Funeral services will be held Thursday January 7, 2010 at 1:00 pm at Wilson's Chapel of the Roses. Interment will follow within the grounds of Roseburg Memorial Gardens.
