Adele Marie Osborne

September 22, 1952 — July 30, 2016

Adele Marie Osborne, aged 63, tragically passed from this world to the next on Saturday, July 30, 2016 in Sutherlin, Oregon while trying to help a stray dog. Adele was born on September 22, 1952 in San Francisco, California, to Harold and Barbara Johnson and was the third of their five daughters.
Adele grew up surrounded by animals and nature in Walnut Creek, California. She was a passionate horsewoman and especially loved gymkhana competition, winning several ribbons and trophies Barrel Racing with her beloved horse Morena. She was also very proud to be a lead rider for the Los Caballeros Saddle Club when they won the Grand National Color Guard Championship at the Cow Palace in San Francisco, California.
After graduating from Del Valle High School in Walnut Creek in 1971, Adele married her high school sweetheart, Kent Osborne in Reno, Nevada on December 25, 1972. They had one son, Jake Daniel Osborne, born on December 31, 1978. Kent and Adele had many friends and were hosts to many fun parties and adventures during their time together. Adele worked as a Dental Assistant for an orthodontist and dentist in the East Bay, and created a beautiful home in Alamo, California.
Following her divorce from Kent, she met Bill Edwards and together they had a son, Sean Douglas Osborne Edwards, born on May 30, 1987. In 1988, she moved to Oregon and held various jobs in the retail and restaurant industry in Roseburg, Sutherlin and Oakland.
Adele had a beautiful singing voice and would often spontaneously make up silly songs! She had a great sense of humor and enjoyed sharing laughter and joy with others. Adele also had a deep love for and a special connection with all animals including horses, dogs, cats, wild birds, bunnies and fish, even cows! Sensing her kindness, it often seemed animals would seek her out, somehow knowing she would take great care of them. She had a special love for her two dogs, Blaze and Kaii, who passed before her.
Adele had a generous heart and a gentle soul, and dearly loved both of her sons, their partners and her precious grandchildren. She struggled at times in life to find a balance between her inner and outer worlds, but she found great solace in the power of love and in her desire to understand the great spiritual truths of life. Adele was grateful for all of the blessings she had received in her life from her family and friends, but she especially appreciated the unconditional love and support from her mom and sister, Beth.
Adele loved working in her garden and truly had a green thumb. There were always healthy, well-tended plants and flowers both inside and outside of her home. She also loved drawing, painting and creating beautiful objects, often out of mundane things others had overlooked. She even painted a wonderful wild horse on a door inside of her home! Adele's warmth, her easy laugh, and her loving, creative spirit will be forever missed by all who knew and loved her.
Adele is survived by her oldest son and his wife, Jake and Samantha Osborne; her youngest son and his girlfriend, Sean Osborne Edwards and Robyn Dhatt; her sisters and spouses, Carol and Tolley Evans; Beth Egner; Divra and David Perkins; Eden and Kevin Jenkins; her grandchildren Maggie and Luke Osborne; nieces and their families, Lila Danielle and James Dowley, Shannon Farrell, Trinity and Jim Bruce; nephews and their families, Ezra and Lynde Perkins, Gavin Egner, Jared and Lindsay Perkins; and stepparent, Thomas Phillips.
Adele is preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Steve Egner; her former husband, Kent Osborne; her father, Harold Johnson; and her mother, Barbara Johnson-Phillips.
Memorials in Adele's name may be offered to New Beginning SPCA or Saving Grace Pet Adoption Center.
There will be a memorial service on Monday, August 15, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Wilson's Chapel of the Roses.
