ADOLPH HARNISCH 102, of Roseburg, Oregon passed away Saturday, January 18, 2014 at his home. He was born June 26, 1911 in Albany, Oregon to Charles B. and Laura (Voss) Harnisch. Adolph graduated from Albany High School in 1930 and attended business college in Oakland, California. He was employed in San Francisco, California where he married his high school sweetheart, Vallis Crooks in 1933. They later moved to Clearlake Highlands, Lake County, California where they lived until 1976 when he retired and they moved to Salem, Oregon and later to Roseburg, Oregon. Adolph served in the United States Army in the 84th Infantry Division in Germany, Belgium and Holland. While living in Clearlake Highlands, California he worked 24 years for the Hammond Lumber Co and 15 years for the Highlands Water Co. Survivors include many nieces and nephews in the Albany, Oregon area. Adolph was preceded in death by 13 brothers and sisters: Ida Lengele of Prineville, Oregon, Else Crabtree of North Bend, Oregon, Herman Harnisch of Salem, Oregon, Ernest Harnisch of Albany, Oregon, Carl Harnisch of Albany, Oregon, Christine Koos of Tangent, Oregon, Henry Harnisch of Albany, Oregon, Mary Harnisch of Turner, Oregon, Rena Smith of Hemet, California, Albert Harnisch of Albany, Oregon, Florence Younkins of Albany, Oregon, Walter Harnisch of Albany, Oregon and Clara Flory of Sacramento, California. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 25, 2014 at 1:00 pm at the First United Methodist Church. Pastor Scott Harkness will officiate. In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions in Adolph memory be made to First United Methodist Church 1771 W. Harvard Avenue, Roseburg, Oregon 97471. Private cremation rites have been held. Inurnment will be held within the Willamette Memorial Cemetery in Albany, Oregon.
