Alice Ruth Denison

Alice Ruth Denison age 88 of Sutherlin, Oregon passed away Thursday morning, August 14, 2008 in Deer park, Washington with her daughter at her side. She was born on March 10, 1920 in Lacquiparle, Minnesota to Edwin and Pheme (Haugland) Torgerson. Alice was one of the charter members of the Christ Lutheran Church in Sutherlin, OR. She worked as a substitute teacher for many years. Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Basil R. Denison in 1996, and one son. She is survived by two sons, a daughter, 6 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Thursday August 21, 2008 at the Christ Lutheran Church in Sutherlin, OR. Pastor Frank Fielder will be officiating. Private family committal will follow with in the grounds of Valley View Cemetery. A reception for family and friends will follow the funeral service. In lieu of flowers donations in Alice's name can be made to the Christ Lutheran Church or the Spokane Hospice. Sutherlin Chapel of the Roses is in charge of the arrangements.
