Anna Marie Neisen (July 10, 1924 - January 27, 2012) Written by William J Neisen
Anna Marie Neisen, age 87 a recent resident of Roseburg, Oregon went home to be with The Lord on Friday January 27, 2012. She was born in Evansville, Indiana on July 10, 1924 to William and Emma Stock.
In 1943 Anna Marie Married the love of her life William Francis Neisen, and faithfully stood by him through all the "Good times" as well as the occasional bad. In 1954 Ann and Bill (with there two young sons in tow, Billy age10 and Eugene 8) moved from Evansville to Phoenix, Arizona. Starting from a small rented apartment, then into a sequence of rented houses, Mom and Dad purchased their first home on W. Harvard in about 1960. The boys grew up and Billy became Bill and moved away to San Jose to pursue a career in show business. Famous or not - Mom and Dad were always proud of me, however their prayers were finally answered when I came to my senses and got a real job in 1970 settled down in Anaheim California and more importantly fell in love and got married in 1971 to Karin Sue with a ready made family; Kenneth age 9, and Gregory age 6. On Dec. 20, 1975 our baby girl Stephanie Rene was born. ..Meanwhile back home in Phoenix, Eugene completes high school, becomes known to family and friends as "Gene" and continues to live at home with Mom, Dad and, (as many of you may remember), Uncle Albert.
Then in 1973, in his often "wanderlust" fashion, Dad up and decides that there's "gold in them there hills" and promptly sold their home and business in Phoenix, and moved to Apple Valley California. Without hesitating, they bought a cozy cabin on a hill side lot in the Mariana Ranchos area, with a terrific view of the entire "High Desert". I can easily imagine Dad and Mom standing in their front yard and claiming the panoramic view as an unlimited opportunity for their new adventure. While starting their new family business "Bill's Pool Service and Supplies", Dad supplemented their income by driving a school bus for the Apple Valley School District, Mom worked as a meat wrapper in a super market in Victorville Ca. Over the years the Pool business grew. Being the single man he was, Gene followed mom and dad to Apple Valley and joined them in the "Family Business", as did, Karin and I some years later (1978 to 1984). Without hesitating, year after year, Mom and Dad dedicated themselves to taking care of Uncle Albert until his passing, while all along encouraging Gene toward his ultimate independence.
In the mid 90's Dad and Mom retired, selling the pool business, which continues to service the "High Desert" to this day. Since receiving a 5 way bypass in 1999, mom was told, and knew medically speaking, that her heart was ailing, however, she never let that hold her back, not for one minute! After Dad's passing in 2000, and due to Mom's health issues, Gene (by this time a confirmed bachelor) took on the loving task of helping our mom by take care of the house and property, as well as faithfully driving mom to Church, Bible study group, and the Senior Citizen Center for nearly every Bingo, Bunko, and almost any other scheduled activity! (Never a dull moment - I'm sure)
Mom (rightfully so) often referred to Gene as her "guardian angle", and in another real sense, mom found sufficient will and strength to survive a number of "spells" with her heart, just to be "Mom" for Gene. Instantly at Genes passing, Moms ailing heart was no longer her maim problem - - - - - now it was a broken heart!, not due to any concerns for the eternal security and continued existence of Gene, who by now was celebrating with our Dad, moms parents, and the generation of all of her friends and family members that had gone on before.
Karin and I, and our children as well, are grateful to God that we could share this past Thanksgiving and Christmas with our: "Mom" - "Grandma" - and "Great-Grandma". We will all carry on knowing that Anna Marie Neisen is now "........away from the body and at home with the Lord". ( 2 Corinthians 5:8 ), and also that God promised the faithful "........I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you" (Ezekiel 36:26).
Moms hope for every one is that they might find the same promise of eternal life that she found through her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
"But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles;
they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint" (Isa. 40:30-31)
In Loving Memory of "MOM"
and with the great expectation that ". . . now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known." (1 cor. 13:12)
