ANNIE PAULINE ELLIOTT 94 of Roseburg, Oregon passed away Wednesday July 15, 2009. She was born January 22, 1915 in New Orleans, Louisiana as the second eldest of eleven children of Abraham Henry and Alice Irene (Warford) Hester. Pauline married Herman Franklin Elliott of Vicksburg, Mississippi and had two daughters. She was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and served in several offices. After raising her daughters, she worked as a doctor's assistant for many happy years. When her husband of 32 years passed away, Pauline moved to Roseburg, Oregon to be closer to her family. She lived in her own home until she moved into Callahan Village, an assisted living residence. Pauline was a great Southern cook, a practical homemaker, a devoted mother and wife, an entertaining storyteller, and a respected Christian. As the well-loved matriarch of the family, she will be greatly missed. She leaves behind two sisters Rosemary Younge of Orlando, Florida and Frances Gepford of Madison, Tennessee; two daughters Ann Griessbach and her husband Norman of Winchester, Oregon and Sandra Haynes and her husband Edward of Roseburg, Oregon; four grandchildren Kimberley Haynes-Henson and her husband David of Omaha, Nebraska, Kevin Haynes and his wife Karin of Anacortes, Washington, Scott Griessbach of Medford, Oregon and Barry Griessbach and his wife Sandra Ann of Redlands, California; three great grandchildren Delaney and Danielle Villarreal of Omaha, Nebraska, Alexander Griessbach of Redlands, California; a great grand stepdaughter Mackenzie Henson of Omaha, Nebraska. A celebration of Pauline's life will be held Sunday July 26, 2009 at 12:00 pm in the Roseburg Seventh-day Adventist Church. Pastor Lyle Arakaki will officiate. Private cremation rites have been held. Private inurnment will be held within the grounds of Roseburg Memorial Gardens. Wilson's Chapel of the Roses is in charge of arrangements.
