Arlie Joe Johnson

Arlie J. Johnson, 82, of Sutherlin went home to his maker on Thursday, March 10. 2011. Arlie was born in Cardwell, Missouri on January 20, 1929 to Clarence and Lela (Gordon) Johnson. He joined the Merchant Marines serving during WWll, Korea and Vietnam. He was a member of the Sutherlin Eagles and the Merchant Marine Veterans Club of WWll in Coos Bay. Arlie is survived by his two sons, Michael R. Johnson and Jackie Goodmen, brother, Nelson Johnson and sister, Rayanna Rick along with 11 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Kenneth, Charles and Verdon Visitation will be at Sutherlin Chapel of the Roses on Monday, March 14, 2011 from 2 - 4 PM with a Memorial Service on Tuesday, March 15 at 2 PM. at the funeral home.
