Audrey Louise Hayes (ne Summerfield) passed away in her home on November 30, 2012. Dearly beloved wife for 57 years of Robert M. Hayes, Audrey was born on July 12, 1934 in the Borough of Lambeth, London, England to Dan and Rose Summerfield.
Audrey emigrated from the United Kingdom to the United States in 1956, following in the footsteps of her future husband Robert M. Hayes, whom she married on August 31, 1956. She was the loving mother of three children, twin girls Mary and Elizabeth and son Robert S. Hayes.
Successful at everything she put her hand to, Audrey's career in business was wide and varied, ranging from department manager for Sears in California to sewing machine sales and in-home carpet consultant.
Audrey travelled widely throughout North America, England and Europe, always living life to the fullest and finding new experiences. Her spark and enthusiasm, combined with an immensely practical attitude and sense of humor, were inspirational to all she met. Always considerate of others, she was a dearly beloved wife, mother and friend and she will be sorely missed.
Services will be Thursday, December 6, at 2 p.m. at Wilson's Chapel of the Roses in Roseburg
