Audrey Ruth Shockey (Bonderant)

MRS. AUDREY RUTH SHOCKEY 86, of Sutherlin, Oregon passed from this life into the arms of Jesus her Savior on Saturday, September 2, 2017. She was born October 10, 1930 in Kansas City, Missouri to Harry Cleveland and Mary Elizabeth (Sparks) Bonderant. Audrey had lived in Kansas City, Missouri, San Jose, California, Gardnerville, Nevada, Oakland, Oregon and for the past 16 years in Sutherlin, Oregon. She married Edward Leroy Shockey in September of 1949. Audrey worked in electronics for various companies in Santa Clara, California. She and Edward were Pastors of a church in Nevada. Audrey was an accomplished pianist who played beautifully and loved to play gospel music. She also loved crafting of all kinds including sewing, crocheting, painting, cooking for family, listening to music, camping and fishing. Audrey had attended and was a member of the Assemblies of God Church in Sutherlin, and in Yoncalla. She was a wonderful wife and mother. Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Edward Shockey, daughters Sherry Nelson and her husband Norman, Marla Hathhorn and her husband Ron; grandchildren Jena (Hathhorn) Parker and her husband Dan, Amy (Hathhorn) Williams and her husband Shawn, and Isaac Hathhorn; great-grandchildren Sarah Parker, Naomi Williams, Adina Williams, Alannah Williams and Brielle Williams. Audrey was preceded in death by one great-grandson, Aaron Vaughn Parker. A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 23, 2017 at 1:00 PM at the Yoncalla Assembly of God. Pastor Ron Hathhorn will officiate. Private interment was held within the grounds of Valley View Cemetery.
