Quietly passed away at home in Roseburg on Sunday, May 22, 2011. She was 73. Barbara was a wonderful mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Born in Oakland, California, she married and raised her sons in Roseville and Lincoln, CA. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert V. Lander in 1980. Barbara and her second husband, Tony, moved to Oregon in 1990, where they had recently purchased a ranch outside of Myrtle Creek, raising goats and sheep. She was a volunteer Medical Driver for the State of Oregon for 15 years where she helped hundreds of clients. Many stayed her friends after she retired from volunteer driving. She loved taking clients, family and friends through the Wildlife Safari in Winston. She was a lifetime member of the Loomis Grange in CA. She attended New life of Sutherlin Church and again she offered those needing it a ride to church, it was while on her way to church she suddenly became ill. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Sherill of Roseville, CA; son and daughter-in-law, Steve and April of Oakland, OR; son Michael of Roseburg, OR; grandchildren, Jamie and Ryan of Roseville, CA; John of Roseburg, OR; great-granddaughter Grace of Roseville, CA; step granddaughter Hannah of Oakland, OR; pseudo son James of Roseburg, OR and best friend Pam of Roseburg, OR. There will be a Celebration of Life and Potluck at the Winston Community Center on Sunday, June 12, 2011 after church services, at 12:00 noon. Those wishing to attend are asked to bring a dish for the potluck. Interim will be in Roseville, CA in July.
