Bette Mae Mcintosh

BETTE MAE WHITLOCK-WOOLCOTT McINTOSH 82 of Roseburg, Oregon passed away Saturday, February 20, 2010. She was born April 6, 1927 in Cottage Grove, Oregon to Herbert W. and Mae E. (Bennet) Whitlock. Bette graduated from Cottage Grove High School in 1945. She married Robert Woolcott in 1946. Bette worked for the Cottage Grove Chamber of Commerce and was appointed the manager in 1965. She was involved in all civic affairs and volunteered in many organizations. Bette was a devoted mother and a loving grandmother. She was a member of the Suroptimist Club and Rotary Anns. In 1973 Bette married Stuart "Stu" McIntosh. She retired from the Chamber of Commerce when Stu was transferred to Roseburg. She was also involved with volunteer work in Roseburg, enjoyed gardening, bowling, bridge, cooking and entertaining. Survivors include her daughter JoAnn Schliep; son Steven Woolcott; 3 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Bette was preceded in death by her husband Stuart McIntosh, parents; brother Ken Whitlock and a sister Verla Thrasher. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Bette's memory to the Wildlife Safari. Private cremation have been held. Bette will be placed with Stuart within the grounds of the Roseburg National Cemetery.
