Betty Jean Newton

January 11, 1925 — December 11, 2008

Betty Jean Newton age 83 of Roseburg passed away Thursday December 11, 2008 with her family at her side. She heard the voice of her Lord, and went with his angels to her new home, the home we have been promised. Betty was born January 11, 1925 to Albert and Pearl Hauser in Yakima, Washington. Betty married Lloyd Newton in 1967. She had a active life being involved with the Moose Lodge, league bowling, camping in the summer and wintering in Arizona. In the latter years she spent much of her time with her grand children and great grand children. Skiler and Taran, lately you made her laugh and filled her heart deeply with joy. She did not know any "Strangers" as she had a heart of gold and treated all with a smile and kind words. A very special thank you to Ken and Carolyn from Roseburg Christian Fellowship for faithfully ministering to "Mom" weekly at Rose Haven. You kept her spirits high. Also, Cora and Rene from Rose Haven; Thank You. Betty was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. She is survived by a daughter Diane and Gary Lewis of Roseburg, Oregon and sons Daryl Graves of Tacoma, Washington and Dennis Graves of Roseburg, Oregon; grand children Mackenzie Graves, Megan Glassman, Greg Lewis, Dale Lewis, Skiler Bryce Lewis, Taran Scott Lewis; great grand children Easton Glassman, Sylas Lewis, Ashley Lewis Dahl. Great great grand children Campbell Grayson, Adalayde Kathryn Dahl; sister Bonnie Jean Anderson of Yakima, Washington and many nieces and nephews. Private cremation rights have been held.
