Age 85, passed away on April 7, 2012 in St. Louis, Missouri. She was born to James and Viva Foster on February 26, 1927 in Merkle, Texas.
Betty was a resident of Roseburg, Oregon from 1991 to 2006 after moving from North Bend, OR. She was past president of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary and a member of Vine St. Baptist church.
Betty is survived by her sons, James and Michael Bearden; and her brother, Samuel (Tom) Foster; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins that she cared for deeply. She was preceded in death by her husband, Barney Smith, and son, Lawrence Bearden.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 13, 2012 at Wilson's Chapel of the Roses Funeral Home in Roseburg. Interment will follow at Roseburg Memorial Cemetery.
