BETTY IVA COLLINS passed away peacefully on May 1, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. Betty Iva Weir was born on January 24, 1927 in Spokane, Washington. She married the love of her life, Clarence Leo Collins, in 1948. They moved to Myrtle Creek, Oregon in 1954 and soon purchased the Starbuck property on N. Myrtle Road where they raised their daughters and as they often said, "lived the happiest years of their lives". Betty was a caring, compassionate woman who loved her home, her family and friends. She loved gardening, sewing, cooking and music. Our home was filled laughter. She pent her life giving and caring for others. For many years Leo and Betty were foster parents to children and adults needing a home. Betty was preceded in death by her husband Leo. Survivors include her daughters Linda Atwood (Denny), Susan Halterman, Sheri Domingus, Kathy Philips (Bert), Colleen Sinner (Scott), Tamera Collins; 13 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; her sister Delores Davis; nieces and nephews. A private family memorial will be planned at a later date and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Betty's name to the Salvation Army White Shield Center, 8495 SE Monterey Ave., Happy Valley, OR 97086.
