Betty May Zuck

BETTY MAY ZUCK 91 passed away May 12, 2010 peacefully with her loving family at her side. She was born June 14, 1918 in Roseburg, Oregon to Alfred and Elizabeth Boyer. Major events during Betty's life were the Roaring 20's, the Great Depression and WW II which all played a key role in her life.Betty graduated from Roseburg High School. In 1945 Betty married Robert Zuck who preceded her in 2007. Betty worked in the family business "Boyer Meat Company for 50 years. She loved and rescued many animals, enjoyed playing bingo, volunteer work and charities (Friendly Kitchen and Election Poll booth), made beautiful baby blankets for anyone she knew having a baby and donated over 30 gallons of blood. Betty also a world class canner and earned many awards over the years, she was also an avid bowler for 50 years with many trophies. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Women of the Moose, Women of the Elks, Card Clubs and Rosy the Riveters. Survivors include her sons Bob Zuck, Tim and Glenna Zuck; brother Dee Boyer and his wife Pat; grandchildren Valerie Corvin and Ryan Zuck; great grandson Jacob Corvin; special niece Rebecca Boyer, Sue Williams; nephews Mike Boyer and Steve Boyer; lifelong friends Carmen Miller and Hazel Chamberlin and too many friends to name. Betty was also preceded in death by her brother Fred Boyer. Those who wish may pay their respects on Monday, May 17, 2010 from 12:00 pm until 4:30 pm at Wilson's Chapel of the Roses. Private interment will be in the Burt Cemetery. At the family's request contributions may be made in Betty's memory to Saving Grace. The family would like to thank Faith Lutheran Church, Pastor Jane Baker and Mercy Hospice.
