Minister Billy Joe Beau' Bentley
Age 73, passed away on Friday, July 26, 2013. He was born on March 29, 1940 at Big Stone Gap, VA, to Charles Axley Bentley and Catherine Irene Ramey Bentley. Beau held a bachelors degree in business management and was a corpsman in the Navy at Balboa Hospital in San Diego, CA. He worked most of his life as a truck driver. At the age of 14 he was driving a school bus and a lumber truck after school and on weekends. He drove truck for 56 years and owned three different companies during that time. He finely retired in November of 2009 from Messilla Valley Transportation per the doctor's request. Beau was a member of the House of Prayer for all nations for the past eight years and become the minister in 2011. He was working with his wife, Sletta to start a church in Riddle, OR. He was also the youth Pastor at Mountain Home Church of God in Michigan when he lived there.
Beau is survived by his wife, Sletta Bentley; daughters: Faye (John) Deloache, of Georgia; Katrina (Gary) Brinkley, of Tennessee; sons: Robert F. Bentley (Billy Dunn) ; Timothy (Joan) Bentley; Thomas (Vicki) Bentley, all of Tennessee; stepdaughters: Sletta (Martin) Rein; Taunya Janssen; Shelly O'neill of Longview, WA; Cinderella (Todd) Hallam, Kelso, WA; six grandchildren and 16 step grandchildren (special grand children: KJ and Nicole Bentley; and April Whelchel); Nine great-grandchildren and three step great-grandchildren. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, in VA, Michigan, Tennessee and Washington State. Along with special friends: Harold and LaRee Mallett of Caytonville, CA; Laverne and Violetta Landers of Riddle, OR; Daniel and Virginia Ramsey of Limeston, TN; and friends from the Family Worship Center in Winston: Jay, Sandee and Vern Hendrix. He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters: Dora L. (Bill) Scott Sr. of Longview, WA; Charlotte (David) Shoen of Kelso, WA; brothers; Ralph Bentley of Detroit, MI; Donald (Rose Marie) Bentley of Longview, WA; and grandmother, Ona Ramey.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Memorials may be offered at the House of Prayer for all Nations at 731 NE Mason, Portland, OR, 97217.
