BLONDINA LAWSON HOWARD, 88 of Roseburg, Oregon passed away Monday, October 3, 2011 in a local care center. She was born July 6, 1923 in Conception Junction, Missouri to Letta and George Lawson. Due to the Depression, the family moved to Willamina, Polk County, Oregon. Blondina attended elementary school and graduated from Willamina High School in 1942. On February 27, 1943 she married Eldon George Howard who preceded her in death on July 4, 1985. The Howard's moved from Willamina to the Roseburg area in 1946 to work in the logging industry. On May 12, 1963 Blondina was baptized into the fellowship of the First Christian Church; was a 40 year member of the Women of the Moose Lodge and worked for many years with the Roseburg School District Food Services. She enjoyed traveling, going to the YMCA, camping, hunting and being involved with the Friendly Kitchen Meals on Wheels. Survivors include her daughter whom they adopted Linda K. Howard; brother George M. Lawson; nieces, nephews and other special family members. Blondina was also preceded in death by her parents; sister Pebble M. Lawson and niece Judy K. Lawson. Those who wish may pay their respects on Friday October 7, 2011 from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm at Wilson's Chapel of the Roses. Private cremation rites will follow. Inurnment will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park in McMinnville, Oregon.
