Carol Lamb was born Carol Alford in Watsonville, CA, where her father was stationed at Camp McQuaide. Her three sisters, mother and father lived in New Jersey and Idaho, returning to California where her father was Minister of Music for the Glendale United Methodist Church.
She attended college in San Diego where she met the “doll” of her life, Charles Lamb. She followed him to Crater Lake for summer employment and later married in June of 1967. Soon after they started their life together, Chuck received a park ranger position in Yellowstone and Carol began her career as a teacher. Later moving to Oregon, she pursued a career in library studies. She became Branch Librarian in Canyonville and later Young Adult Librarian at Headquarters.
Despite fighting a heart condition, kidney failure and cancer for three years, she remained positive and hopeful. She is deeply loved and missed by her husband, three children, six grandchildren, and three sisters.
A celebration of life will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, 823 SE Lane Ave, in Roseburg, OR, June 9th, 2018, at 1 p.m. with a reception to follow.
