Cecile Jeanette (L'Archevesque) Joyce passed away December 2nd, 2017 in Roseburg, Oregon at the age of 96. She was born on November 19th, 1921 in Fall River, Massachusetts to Adelard L'Archevesque and Melandy (Lapierre). She is survived by her son Michael Joyce, daughter Lisa Soder and son in law Eric Soder, by six grandchildren Michael, Leah, Mathew, Kaia, Kelly and Lucia, as well as seven great grandchildren Sage, Madelyn, Evan, Jay, Chloe, Abbie and Leo. Cecile married her childhood sweetheart George Joyce in 1943, two weeks before his air force deployment to Italy. During the war she worked making gas masks for the war effort. After the war ended, they started their family and eventually moved to California in 1959. George worked for Vandenberg Air Base and together they opened a bike shop in Arroyo Grande in 1965. Upon retirement in 1980, they moved to Winchester, Oregon to be closer to family. Cecile loved painting, music, fishing, tennis, golf, card games and a good joke. She taught her grandchildren to be adventurous and willing to learn. Friends and family will always remember Cecile as an incredibly patient and fun loving mother, grandmother, and friend who found comfort in her deep faith. She is preceded in death by three siblings, her husband and son in law, Gary Hill.
