Age 90, of Sutherlin, Oregon passed away on Thursday, February 28, 2013. He was born in Idaho Falls, ID, on December 21, 1922, to William and Lizzie Harris. He married Betty L. Harris August 22, 1969 in Roseburg, OR. Charles served in the U.S. Army during World War 11. He worked for Roseburg Lumber Co. for 31 years as a logger. After retirement, he helped many, including working on his son-in-law and daughter's sheep/cattle ranch. He was devoted to family and enjoyed hunting and fishing. The family is so grateful for the awesome care given to Charles by the staff at Chantele's Loving Touch. Charles was a member of Roseburg Church of God. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances E. Parris; brothers: Jerry Jennings, Virgil Harris, Elmer Harris, Lorn Harris; and his sister, Ula Jackson. He is survived by his wife, Betty Harris; son, Duane and Betty Harris, Oak Harbor, WA; daughter, Sandra Geilhausen, Dallas, OR; brothers: Tom and Cindy Harris, Roseburg, OR; Neval and Pat Harris, Leavenworth, WA; stepchildren: Karen and Gordon Ferguson, Roseburg, OR; Bruce and Lonnee Harris, Roseburg, OR; R.J. and Jody Dugone, Leander, TX; 15 grandchildren; and 36 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 9, 2013, at 1 p.m. at the Roseburg Church of God, 4051 NE Stephens, Roseburg, OR. Friends may visit at the Chapel of the Roses, in Roseburg, OR, on March 7, 2013, from 1 to 5 p.m. and on March 8, 2013 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Roseburg Church of God Missions Fund.
