Christine Laverne Ray

Passed away on January 15, 2010, in Roseburg, Oregon, at the age of 79. Laverne was born on April 11, 1930, to Jesse Whitfield Thompson and Ruby Ann Thompson. She had five siblings, Scott, Mildred, HR, Suzy, and Irene.
Laverne married Wilburn E. Ray on February 11, 1948, on the beach in Corpus Christi, Texas. Their 62 year marriage produced four children, Kathryn, Wilburn Jr., Christine, and Mary; seven grandchildren, Richard, Ryan, Jennifer, Eric, Shana, Jessica, and Sarah; four great-grandchildren, Lizzy, Silvia, and Ryan Jr., and Kyle.
During her 79 years on God's earth, Laverne lived in Louisiana, Texas, California, Nevada, and Oregon.
She was a devoted Christian, loving mother, and devoted wife. She touched everyone she met with a smile that could light up a room on the darkest night. The warmth of her love and affection for her family and friends will endure in our hearts forever. Laverne lived a long happy life by the Living word, an she is now home with our Lord Jesus Christ in Heaven.

Funeral services will be ar Rose Family Funeral Home in Simi Valley, California. Burial at Oakmont Cemetery.
