Christine Weir, beloved wife and mother, was taken into the arms of her God to share in His mercy on October 19, 2014 while in the midst of her loving family. She was born in Beeville Texas on December 15, 1926 to Pablo and Petra Arriola. The second of six children, she is preceded in passing by her parents, her oldest sister (Margie Vaughn) and the youngest (Mary Arriola).
In 1952 she married Ronald E. Weir at the San Fernando Cathedral in San Antonio Texas. Christine was a loving wife who followed the travels of her aerospace engineer husband across the continent from Lodi, New Jersey to Tucson, Arizona and west to Costa Mesa, Tustin, Cupertino and Los Altos Hills, California before settling in Roseburg, Oregon.
She endeared herself to a host of friends from all walks of life as well as the companions of her children by combining cookies, and serious conversations with love. She was closely associated with her church and assumed many duties where others felt they had no time for the effort. Her candor and love brought her many dear friends and neighbors.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Ronald, sons Wesley John and wife Sandra "Sam" Weir of Fortuna California, Paul Thomas and wife Margaret Weir of Aptos California, and daughter Maria Linda Lehr and husband Douglas of Napa California. She was very proud to be the grand-mother of Morgan Emily Weir (daughter of Wes and Sam) of Bremerton Washington, and Kelly, Helen and Catherine Weir (daughters of Paul and Margaret) of Aptos California.
Her loving manner and infinite devotion to her family will be missed by us all. She lived her life to the utmost and gave freely of her devotion to the will of God and to the friends she cherished, as well as her family and the many pets she also adopted. Arrangements are not yet settled but in lieu of flowers, contributions to the local Humane Society organizations of your choice are suggested.
