Cletus Monroe "Rocky" Stone

Cletus Monroe Stone (Rocky), beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully at the age of 95 on March 26, 2017, in Roseburg, Oregon. He was born on October 21, 1921, to Louise and Lawrence Stone in Portland, Oregon.
While on leave from the Merchant Marines, Cletus married the love of his life, Gege Ferrante, April 19, 1944. In 1955, Rocky and Gege moved their family of five children to Roseburg, where they purchased and ran M & M Printers for many years until they retired. It was a perfect team with Gege as the outgoing salesperson and bookkeeper, and Rocky, the perfectionist journeyman printer.
Cletus was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 55 years, Gege, in 2000; and his son, Cletus Jr., in 2014. He is survived by his children, Carol Hellyer, Laura Pigott, Don Stone and Kathy Duarte; his grandchildren, Whitney Hellyer, Philip Pigott, Kendra Herrmann and Kelsey Stone; and great-grandchildren, Donnivan Stone, Parker Herrmann and Kyle Amelia Pigott.
Cletus was devoted to his family. He and Gege enjoyed many summers vacationing in Sunriver, Oregon, with the children and grandchildren. He loved walking, was an avid golfer, enjoyed sitting in the sun and going to McDonald's for a mocha frappe.
A celebration of Rocky's life will be held at Wilson's Chapel of the Roses, 965, W. Harvard, in Roseburg, on Saturday, July 8, 2017, at 1 p.m. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Callahan Court for the loving care they gave to our father, Cletus. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
