Clifford D. Colby passed away peacefully in his home on June 9, 2024, at the age of 91. In 1970, Cliff retired from a distinguished career in the U.S. Marine Corps. He became a fireman, fire inspector and the Fire Marshall here in Roseburg and retired from Civilian service in 1976. Clifford then owned and operated a couple of mom-and-pop grocery stores and the Fir Valley Tavern in Colton, Oregon.
Clifford moved his wife Louise and three boys to Roseburg in 1967, after he served as a Marine Recruiter here. Wanting to lay some roots after 20 years of his Military family having to move often. Roseburg fit the bill.
Cliff was proceeded in death by his wife Louise in 2013, his son Dan in 2005, and his son John in 2024. Cliff loved America and proudly served in Korea and Vietnam. A Military funeral will be held at 11am July 9, 2024, at the Roseburg VA National Cemetery. All are welcome.
