Clyde M Rogers

CLYDE M. ROGERS 92, of Roseburg, Oregon passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at Mercy Medical Center. He was born on July 13, 1925 in Mill City, Oregon to Clyde E. and Dora (Berreman) Rogers. Clyde graduated from Mill City High School in 1943. While in high school, he played basketball, football, delivered the Oregonian newspaper and was Student Body President. Clyde loved living in a small town. A year after his graduation he joined the Navy and served in both the V-5 and V-12 programs. After his discharge he graduated from Oregon State College in 1949. He married Carolyn Tunison that fall and their first home was in Portland, Oregon. Clyde changed jobs several times and was hired by Umpqua Dairy Products in 1967. He had found his “place” and was soon promoted to Secretary Treasurer. While working at Umpqua Dairy he served as Rotary President, Chamber of Commerce Treasurer, President of Oregon Dairy Industry and Treasurer of the Northwest Independent Dairies. He retired in June of 1990. Clyde and Carolyn enjoyed a nice long retirement, playing golf and traveling. Memorial services will be held on Friday, January 26, 2018 at 2:00 pm with a reception following at Wilson’s Chapel of the Roses.
