Dale B. Clemens

April 11, 1937 — September 4, 2015

Dale Bertram Clemens graduated from this earth and into the Heavenly presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 4, 2015 with his loving wife sitting at his side holding his hand. "And this is the testimony; God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life." 1 John 5:9-11
Dale was born into this world, the youngest of six children, on April 11, 1937 in Klamath Falls, Oregon to Wade and Jessie Clemens. Dale attended most of his high school years at Ashland High School but spent his senior year at Medford High School where he graduated with the class of 1956. He attended Bethany Bible College in Santa Cruise California and studied music.
On August 29, 1958 Dale married his sweetheart and soul-mate, Lorraine Saxton. Together they raised three wonderful children that would bring them the joy of sic grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. In their 57 years together, they lived in California, Oregon and Washington and spent a short time in Canada. But Dale always thought of Oregon as home, so in May 2013, Dale and Lorraine moved back to Roseburg.
Dale loved his family. He enjoyed watching sports of all kinds from golf to football but his favorite team to watch was the Seattle Seahawks. He and Lorraine loved traveling. They traveled cross country, flew to Hawaii and took an Alaskan Cruise. He loved the great outdoors and enjoyed going on walks. One of his favorite leisurely activities was fishing. He would seize any opportunity he could to throw a line in the water. He always got excited while visiting the Winchester Dam Fish Viewing near his home when he would see all the salmon and steelhead coming through. Dale was often seen with a camera taking pictures of whatever he found beautiful or interesting. But the most important thing in Dale's life was his Lord and Savior Jesus. He knew and read his bible daily and wanted to share God's love with everyone he came into contact with. He loved to talk so was never shy about asking a complete stranger if they were a believer in Jesus Christ. It was that faith and hope in Jesus Christ that got him through his final days. His mind stayed sharp right up to the end of his time here and he shared his faith as often as he could with those who were caring for him. He told one nurse "It's all in God's hands now". The nurse replied "that is a good attitude to have". Dale responded back with "It's more than an attitude, it's a personal relationship." It is because of his faith and belief that Dale proudly changes his address from earth to heaven.
He was preceded into Heaven by his parents Wade and Jessie, three brothers, William, Porter and Harold and two infant brothers and his grandson Jonathan. He is survived by his wife Lorraine of Roseburg, Daughters Brenda (David) Kirk of Sultan Wa, Rhonda (David) Koon and a son Bryan Clemens all of Issaquah Wa. Grandchildren Tagen, Kendra, Karen, Kaitlyn, and Steven, two great-granddaughters Alice and Rimington and numerous friends.
Services will be held at Oak Creek Cemetery Friday, September 11, 2015 at noon. Scott Eastburn of Church on the Rise will be officiating.
