Dale Jerry Koch, 55, of Oakland passed away on April 2, 2014 after an extended illness. He was born on August 16, 1958 in Newberg, Oregon to Edward L and Lucille (Newton) Koch. Dale was a long time resident of Oakland and had previous lived in Sutherlin and Veneta and worked at Lithia of Roseburg for 21 years. During Jr. High he was on the Track and field teams. He was a 1976 graduate of Sutherlin High School and had attended classes at Umpqua Community college and the University of Oregon. He enjoyed photography, cross country skiing, skydiving, hiking, rock hunting, gold panning, camping and target shooting. Dale was an active member of the Oakland Church of Christ being the sound board operator.
Dale is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mary Lou Braun. He is survived by his daughter, Heather Dawn Koch and a son, Christopher Dale Koch both of Oakland, Oregon. He is also survived by his brothers Edward "Bud" Henry Koch (Billie) of Winston, Oregon and Michael Shawn Koch of Oakland along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held on April 26, 2014 at 2 pm at the Oakland Church of Christ with Pastor Kristofer Tripp officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Prostate Cancer Research, Community Cancer Center, Mercy Hospital, OHSU and the Oakland Church of Christ.
