Dale (Pete) Pedersen Age: 86 of Roseburg, Oregon died on Friday, May 11, 2012 at a local care facility from complications associated with Dementia. He was born June 8, 1925 in McMinnville, Oregon to Thora & Nicolai Pedersen. Dale Graduated from McMinnville High School, in 1943. He joined the Navy right after High School and served on the USS Caelum, later serving as a guard on the Battleship Oregon. After leaving the military he ran the McMinnville Creamery with his father for 10 years. In 1961, when the business closed, he moved his family to Roseburg where he worked for Metropolitan Insurance selling Life Insurance for 20 years. During his time with Metropolitan he was a member of the President's Club and Honor Club. He retired in 1985 and then began many years of R.V. travels with Mickey throughout the United States. Dale was a member of the Moose and Elks Lodge. He enjoyed the camping and friendships he made with members of both RV groups. Dale wasn't an expert woodworker but he enjoyed making his wooden "Yard Art" of assorted cartoon type animals. He loved being with his family and all family gatherings, "especially if he was in charge". Dale loved watching old movies and could be found many days watching John Wayne Westerns. Dale was proceded in death by his parents, Thora Nelsena Pedersen and Nicolai M Pedersen, and a sister Helen Elofson. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Zora (Mickey) Pedersen, two daughters, Judy Conley (Larry), Jackie Ramp (Mark) and a son Curtis Pedersen (Julie) all of Roseburg. He has five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at 2 PM at the First United Methodist Church, 1771 W Harvard, Roseburg, Oregon.
