Danny Clark, born August 18, 1951 in Eugene, Oregon, passed away on October 9, 2018 at his Umpqua, Oregon home. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Vikki Clark, and his 3 daughters, Heather Burbach of Cranston, Rhode Island, Shelly Clark of Creswell, Oregon and Sarah Hoskins, as well as his brother, Tommy Clark of Coburg, Oregon. Danny worked for years as a salesman, a truck driver, and was the owner of D&H Steel in Roseburg, Oregon prior to its closing.
Danny was an enthusiast for classic cars, and enjoyed restoring and maintaining his 1925 Dodge Brothers, 1951 Pontiac, 1952 MGR and 1988 Corvette.
Danny’s friends and family were the most important thing in his life, and he always had the time to stop and talk, share a story and a laugh. He was always available to lend a hand if needed. Danny cared very deeply for his community, serving on numerous boards and counsels, including many years on the Umpqua School Board and the Roseburg Fire District 2 Board. He was the first Chief and founder of the Umpqua Volunteer Fire Department, where he served for many years.
There will be a celebration of life for Danny at the Umpqua Community Center, 806 Hubbard Creek Road, Umpqua, Oregon on November 10, 2018 at 2pm, where people will be encouraged to share their memories of Danny. In lieu of flowers, the family is suggesting contributions to the Umpqua Community Center 806 Hubbard Creek Road, Umpqua, OR 97486. He will be deeply missed.
