DAVID ALLEN HOOGERHYDE 39, of Myrtle Creek, Oregon passed away on Wednesday, August 10, 2011 in an accident while driving for Terrain Tamers, Inc. He was born May 13, 1972 in North Bend, Oregon to Gary and Carol Hoogerhyde. David graduated from Roseburg High School and Truck Driving School. He has worked at Morgan Built, Roseburg Lumber Plant 3, Stratton Brothers, Roseburg Forest Products in Dillard and Riddle and Terrain Tamers. David enjoyed motor cycle, atv and bicycle riding with his dad and friends, playing with his RC truck, going to church, hanging out with friends, playing video games, going to the beach, being outdoors and as a teenager he fell in love with the Grand Canyon. He really enjoyed absorbing the beauty of God's creation. David mentored several youth at his church and prayed daily. He was a longtime member and Deacon at Winston Assembly of God. Survivors include his parents Gary and Carol Hoogerhyde of Myrtle Creek, Oregon; Aunt Kareen Don of Chandler, Arizona, Aunt Debra Roberts of Eugene, Oregon, Uncle David Roberts of Roseburg, Oregon; several cousins originally from the Sutherlin area, Chandler, Arizona and Arkansas; friends Laurence, AJ, Paul, Aaron, Gary, Kim, Ryan and Donnie. David was preceded in death by his grandparents Viola St. John, David R. Roberts, Cara Woodcock and Carl Whitworth. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 18, 2011 at 6:00 pm at the Winston Assembly of God. Pastor Ed Novak will officiate. Private interment will be held within the grounds of Roseburg Memorial Gardens.
