DAVID LEONARD POST 81 of Glide, Oregon passed away Monday April 7, 2008 in a local hospital. He was born March 20, 1927 in Jersey City, New Jersey to Joseph and Rose Post. David served in the US Navy as a Cook on the USS Stewart and the USS Martin H. Ray during WW II. He worked for the Department of Labor and as an oil driller in Alaska. Mr. Post was a member of the Moose and Masonic Lodges. He enjoyed his family especially his grandchildren and he was always there for his son. David also enjoyed dancing, traveling and going on cruises. Survivors include his wife Bettye Post of Roseburg; sons Marcus Post of Frankfurt, Germany and Daniel Post of Glide; grandchildren Erin post and Johnathan Post; brothers Robert Post of Connecticut, Arthur Post of Florida, Frank Post of Pennsylvania; sister Laura Haggerty of New York; stepchildren Juliana Fugate of Winston and Steven Bruce of Roseburg. Mr. Post was preceded in death by a sister Leah Post. Those who wish may pay their respects on Sunday April 13, 2008 from 12 pm- 5 pm at Wilson's Chapel of the Roses. Funeral services with Military Honors will be held Monday April 14, 2008 at 1:00 pm at Wilson's Chapel of the Roses. Interment will be within the grounds of Eagle Point National Cemetery in Eagle Point, Oregon. Wilson's Chapel of the Roses is in charge of arrangements.
