David Cassel Quine was born in Roseburg, Oregon on March 3, 1949 at Mercy hospital where he passed away on Christmas night. David was the only child of George K and Lois Quine.
He lived with his parents for the greater part of his life, as they helped him face the challenges of mental development. David had a unique ability to remember names and faces. Many people in Roseburg may remember him for his smile, his enthusiastic greeting, and the ever present questions he would ask. Following his parents deaths, David lived for thirteen years in a group home in Winston with the support of the kind and loving staff of Douglas Resident Training Facility. He was the last male member of the Quine family who pioneered the Quine's Creek area in the late 1890's.
David is survived by four first cousins, and numerous other relatives. A graveside service will be held at Roseburg Memorial Gardens on January 4, 2017 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to Special Olympics Douglas County. Please visit
