Born July 17, 1962, Dennis Alan Manske has passed away in the care of his loving immediate family on the morning of April 29, 2012 at age 49. He was a long-time resident of Springfield, Oregon. Denny graduated from Glide High School and after serving in the military from 1982-1984, he went on to earn his Bachelor's of Science in Psychology from the University of Oregon. From 1988 on, Denny's tenure with the Local 29 Ironworkers Union was well-respected and well-known throughout Oregon. In more recent years, he played a significant role in direct coalition support in the current role on the global war on terrorism from 2010 to 2012. Manske provided key management leadership assistance to the Australian Defense Forces in the Southern Helman Provence of Afghanistan. Outside of his work life, he kept a balanced variety of interests. As a strong proponent of his own lifelong athleticism, Denny enjoyed strength training, day-long hunts, as well as a good round of golf. Despite his serious and private demeanor, his under layer was of a truly sensitive and playful nature. From horror films to sci-fi and fantasy novels, Denny was the fresh air-loving intellectual who loved his gadgets and meaningful conversations. Denny is succeeded by his parents, Bruce and Beverly Manske of Roseburg, Oregon; his children, Dawn Manske (27) of Portland, Oregon, Ethan Manske (22) and Wyatt Manske (17); as well as their mother, Wendy Nau, all of Springfield, Oregon; and his siblings, Lance Manske of Vas, North Carolina, and Nikki West of Roseburg, Oregon.
The Manske family will be holding a private memorial on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at the family property outside of Roseburg, Oregon for family and close friends. Please contact the family for details. In lieu of flowers, the family is creating a trust for Denny's youngest son.
