Dessie "Peggy" Snyder

Peggy left her earthly home for her heavenly home on Sunday, February 12, 2012. Peggy was a lifetime resident of Douglas County, born in Oakland, Oregon on December 18, 1916 to Edith (Spooner) and Prosper Pichette. She was the last survivor of six siblings - Carl Pichette, Rose Young, Eva Renquist, Bert Pichette, and Edna Cole. Peggy was married to William L. Snyder Sr., who preceded her in death. Together they raised four children, James Snyder of Winston, Susan Foster (Ed) of San Marcos, California, Richard Snyder (Sharron) of Hayden, Idaho, and William L. Snyder Jr. (Beth) who proceeded her in death. Peggy had six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was employed for years by Violeta's Arts in Roseburg and then by Douglas County Senior Services from which she retired in 1988.
Peggy loved and was deeply loved in return by her husband, children and grandchildren. She will be fondly remembered and dearly missed.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 17 at 1 p.m. at Wilson's Chapel of the Roses in Roseburg. A viewing will be held Friday morning from 9 a.m. to noon.
