Dolores (Dee) Howe
Went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, August 5, 2014. Dee was born June 13, 1934, in Longview, Washington, to Floyd and Marie Brandon (Brooks). Dee celebrated her 80th birthday this year.
In 1950, she married Bill Sorenson, with whom she was married for 35 years. In 1991, Dee married Larry Howe, and they enjoyed 23 wonderful and happy years together.
While living in Grants Pass, Oregon, Dee went to work for Oregon Technical Products, where she was employed for many years and was promoted to a supervisory position. After moving to Roseburg, she worked for, and retired from, South Umpqua Bank in the Data Processing Department.
Dee was an avid square dancer. She and Bill were charter members of the Charlie Brown Squares in Grants Pass and, after moving to Roseburg, she was a longtime member of the Buckaroos. She also enjoyed many other interests, including ceramics, sewing, photography, quilting, and traveling.
Dee is survived by her husband, Larry Howe of Sutherlin, Oregon; daughter, Susan Johnson (Rick) of Charlotte, North Carolina; son, Daniel Sorenson (Wendie) of Grants Pass, Oregon; stepdaughters, Dani Howe of Denver, Colorado, and Randi Ward (Ken) of Aurora, Colorado; stepsons, Larry Howe, Jr. (Donna) of Phoenix, Arizona, and Kenneth Howe (Laura) of Eugene, Oregon; brother-in-laws, R.G. Phillips of Roseburg, Oregon, and Charles (Mary) of Roseburg, Oregon. Dee was a loving grandmother to 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, and loved by many friends.
Funeral services will be on Sunday, August 10, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. at Sutherlin Chapel of the Roses, 311 East Central, Sutherlin, Oregon 97479. Pastor Stewart Fowler will officiate.
