Don D. Cahoon

Don Cahoon 85, passed away January 31, 2020 in Roseburg, Oregon at Mercy Medical Center. He was born June 27, 1934 in Benjamin, Utah. Don was a devoted husband to Marlene Cahoon. They were married for 45 years. Don and Marlene raised 7 children together in Oregon and loved 7 children from afar. Don served his country in the Army, completing 2 tours in Germany from 1957 - 1959. He was a lifetime member of the VFW. Don was a loyal employee of Roseburg Forest Products for 28 years. He had a love of hunting, fishing and a true passion for golfing. Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Marlene Cahoon; brother Roger Cahoon; children Ricky Cahoon, Robin Smith, Moria Gregor, Kathy Combs, Trish and Lynette; step-children he raised and loved as his own Ricky Mortensen, Chester Mortensen, Heidi Berglund, Carma Mortensen, Brian Gates, Donnie Gates, Jennifer Paddock and by many loving grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Don was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Beth and Nancy, brother Spencer and daughter Pam. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at 3:00 pm at the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints, 340 NW Glenhart Ave, Winston, OR 97496. In lieu of flowers the family respectfully asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
