DONALD RAY WOLFF 73, of Roseburg, Oregon passed away Monday, July 14, 2014 as the result of complications of Alzheimer's. He was born April 17, 1941 in Paul, Idaho to Edgar and Esther Wolff. Don graduated in 1959 from Minidoka High School. In 1960 he received a degree in Diesel Equipment Repair as well as a degree in Welding in 1967, both from Idaho State University. He served in the US Army and Idaho National Guard as a Turret Artillery Mechanic and was honorably discharged in 1969. Don worked for many years as a Diesel Mechanic with PIE Trucking in Whittier, California, Garrett Freight Lines in Pocatello, Idaho and Salt Lake City, Utah, CRISTA Ministries and Salmon Bay Sand and Grave in Seattle, Washington. He also worked as a lineman in South Dakota, and hauled beets and potatoes in Burley, Idaho in his younger years. Don enjoyed traveling, fishing, camping, playing with his grandchildren, metal detecting, watching Mariners Baseball games and college football. While fulltime RV'ers Don and Pam served God by helping churches with building cleanup, construction of church fellowship halls, VBS, and helping friends and families as needed. Don was a member of Vine Street Baptist Church and was involved with the wood ministry as well as other areas. He made many friends in his places of travel. Don achieved the level of Eagle Scout as a young man and earned numerous safety awards while at CRISTA Ministries. Survivors include his wife of 45 years Pam Wolff of Roseburg, Oregoon; son Tony Wolff (Roberta) of Sandy, Utah; sister Luanne Little (Tim) of Burley, Idaho; brother Roger Wolff (Patti) of Larkspur, Colorado; grandchildren Kaitlyn, Kellie and Kristopher Wolff of Sandy, Utah and Karissa Eyre (Jacob) and a great granddaughter Paisley Eyre of Syracuse, Utah. He enjoyed spending time with his nieces, nephews, and numerous cousins. Don was preceded in death by his parents and son Troy Wolff in September 2013. A celebration of Don's life will be held Saturday, July 26, 2014 at 11:00 am at Wilson's Chapel of the Roses with refreshments to follow. Pastor Mike Holleman will officiate. Private interment within the grounds of Roseburg Memorial Gardens. Contributions may be made in Don's memory to either Alzheimer Association or Amedysis Hospice of Roseburg and these may be left at Wilson's Chapel of the Roses. The family would like to thank the Manor House staff and caregivers, Amedysis Hospice, Dr. Mia Shreiner and Dr. Donald Stoddard for their care and compassion.
