Donald Wayne Foster, age 76 of Roseburg, Oregon passed away April 26, 2010 Donald was born February 1, 1934, at home in Grants Pass Oregon to Rosco Lee and Elizabeth May (Lomas) Foster. His family lived in White Salmon Washington and Salem, Oregon prior to moving to Roseburg in 1946. Don attended Benson School, Central Junior High and Roseburg High School. Graduating with the class of 1953. He enlisted in the Army Airborne with two best friends in June of 1953 and was discharged July of 1956. Don married Carolyn Mae Hollyman in Roseburg on January 11, 1957. Don was employed in various retail jobs and commercial fishing prior to going to work at Hanna Nickel Mine in Riddle, Oregon. He loved to fish and hunt better than anything he could think of. He was very devoted to Umpqua Fisherman, until, due to his health he was unable to participate. Donald is survived by his wife, Carolyn, sons, Jerry L. Foster of Queretaro Mexico and Gordon A Foster of Albuquerque, New Mexico, grandchildren Rebecca Foster, Mexico, Kade Foster, New Mexico, James Walker and Sarah Walker of Redding California. He is also survived by a sister in law, Kay Kvidera and numerous nieces,nephews and cousins in the Northwest. Donald was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Walter L. Foster, sons, William A Foster and David W Foster, a brother in law Larry F Kvidera and Mother and Father in law, Emmett and Ada Hollyman. Burial will be private at Roseburg National Cemetery. A Get Together to celebrate Don's life with friends and family is planned at a later day.
