Donna Jean Hassett, passed away at her home in Roseburg, OR, after losing a battle to a very aggressive, rare, form of cancer on Sunday, October 5, 2014. She was nicknamed "Pinkey" which was started by her dad because of her red hair. Donna was born in December of 1939 to David and Velma Semmes in The Dalles, OR. Prior to living in Roseburg, Donna lived in Bend, Portland, John Day and Senica, Oregon. She graduated with her GED in 1968 and worked as a Bank Officer for 5 years then as a Bookkeeper for 35 years. Donna enjoyed playing cribbage and received many awards including a gold award for highest club play. She also enjoyed knitting, and reading mysteries. Donna is survived by her husband of 36 years, Larry, stepsons, Kevin, Darin, Brian (Lori), brother, "Butch", grandchildren, Brian Jr. (BJ), Emma - Leigh, Preston, Dyllon, DeAnna, Chad, Nicole, Gina, and Russell, and great-grandchildren, Lucian and Chad Jr. Donations may be made in her name to The Triva Hoffman Foundation for Breast Cancer research. A special thanks to all the wonderful staff at Mercy Hospital, Dr. Bolduc and her staff, all her friends at the timber capital cribbage club, all the special people from Roseburg Book and Stationary, the wonderful staff and doctors from the urgent care clinic where she worked, the members of the Roseburg Lions club, the staff at the Mill Casino and Hotel who provided Donna two wonderful days to be with her husband and sons, their families and extended family the last week of her life, and all of her friends to numerous to mention. A wake will be held for Donna on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm at Melrose Vineyards. Please RSVP to
