Donna Jean Hopkins died on Sunday, March 20, 2022 at the age of 92. She was born in Loveland, Colorado on January 16, 1930 to John C. Sutton and LaVeta Neville Sutton as the third of eight children. Donna graduated from Roseburg High School in 1947 and continued to coordinate her high school reunion committee until her death, After graduation, Donna started her lifelong career as a Legal Secretary. She married James "Hop" Hopkins on June 30, 1950 who preceded her in death in 2001. Donna and Hop purchased their lifelong family home in the early 1960's where she remained until her death. The home they created became the center of the family life. It was there that they raised their four children as well as three grandchildren. At the time of her death there were four generations of her family living in this home that she had created. Donna's greatest loves were her family and her flowers. She could always be found either making food for the family or working the flowers she loved. While roses were her favorite flower, Donna had a love for all flowers and would spend countless hours working her flower gardens. Donna was preceded in death by siblings Georgia (Maxine) Cummings, Annamae Roth-Blankley, and Duane Sutton. She is survived by her children Debbie Hopkins, Peggy Martin (Bill), James "Scott" Hopkins, and Holly Thomas (Victor); her siblings: Jackie Parson, Beulah Everley, Frank "Pedro" Sutton and Rita Pinard. Donna also leaves behind her grandchildren Angelique Martinez, Jeffrey Thomas, Taylor Martin, Edward Martin and Summer Thomas as well as her five great-grandchildren Elija, Khloe, Brayden, Sage and Carter. A service will be held at Westside Christian Church on Friday, April 1, 2022 at 4:00 pm. Services will also be streamed on the Westside Christian Church website at Westside Christian Church (westside-cc.com). In lieu of flowers the family hopes you would donate to Donna's favorite charity The American Heart Association.
