Donna Sabala Mclean (Dunham) Sabala Mclean

August 15, 1930 — June 30, 2014

Donna (Dunham) Sabala McLean
Age 83, of Roseburg, Oregon, passed away on Monday, June 30, 2014, due to complications from Alzheimer's, at her home in Riverview Terrace, Roseburg, Oregon. She was born August 15, 1930, to Kenneth Dunham and Elma Mellor Dunham Cooper in Roseburg, Oregon. Donna spent all of her years in Douglas County, mainly Roseburg. She attended Roseburg schools and Roseburg High School but graduated from Camas Valley High School after her parents moved there in 1947. Donna worked at Pacific Bell after graduation and then married Graciano "Chris" Sabala on October 20, 1951. Chris brought two sons, Ray and Larry, to the marriage, and in 1953 and 1954, Chris and Donna had two other children, Dave and Robin. She and Chris were square dancers at the Buckeroo Barn for several years and members of a long-standing Pinochle club. Donna was very active in the PTA in the 60s and her children's activities throughout their school years. She never missed a game, contest, or event. She was a stay-at-home mom but eventually worked part-time at Viletta's Arts. She was married to Chris until his passing on September 23, 1987. In 1996, she married Danny McLean until his passing in 1998. She loved attending sporting events, playing in her Pinochle Club of almost 60 years, line dancing, walking with her ladies' group, and her Tuesday morning coffee group. She was a member of Sweet Adeline's singing group in the late 80's. At one point, she was a hostess at the Hi-Ho and enjoyed greeting people. She loved to travel with Prime of Life Tour Group and other local travel groups. In the early 1980's, she and Chris built themselves a cabin in Bandon in which she valued spending time there until her disease made it too difficult. Most of all, she just loved being around family and friends, of which she had many! Donna is preceded in death by her husband, Chris, of 36 years; her parents, Kenny Dunham and Elma Cooper, second husband Danny; and grandson Tom Berglund. She is survived by daughter Robin Sabala Johnson of Winchester; son David Graciano Sabala and wife, Debbie, of Roseburg; son Larry Kim Sabala and wife, Linda, of Medford, OR; son Raymond Lee Sabala and wife, Cheryl, of Troutdale, OR; sister Cheryl Looney and husband, Dave, of Keizer, OR; brother Buck Dunham and wife, Luella, of Culver, OR; brother Bill Dunham and wife, MaryLou, of Brightwood, OR; grandchildren Tony Sabala (Lori), Teesha Barry (Carlos), Shelley Teeter (Wayne), Megan Young (Jeff), Tracy Miller (Eddie), and Jennifer Allen (Gabe); great grandchildren Chris Denny, Joshua Teeter, Dylan Teeter, Caden Young, Collin Young, Ned Miller, Maggie Miller, Audrey Miller, Mikayla Sanguins, and Chase Allen; two grand dogs, Blondie and Abby; sister-in-laws Martha Sabala and Vicky Short; brother-in-law Pete Sabala; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
