Doris M. Lundgren, was the last living member of her North Dakota Norwegian Olson family. At the age of 87, she passed away early Tuesday morning on August 26, 2008. She was born in Watford City, North Dakota on August 8, 1921 to Ole and Judith Olson. Following the death of her first husband in an oil tank farm fire, she went to California where she earned a teaching credential and taught school. She married John M. Lundgren on March 11, 1950, and they lived in Crescent City, California. After his in April of 2002, Doris moved to Roseburg to be closer to her daughter Karen. She was a proud member of the Weaver's Guild and the spinners group. Her joys were her faith, her family, her spinning and picking blackberries. Doris is survived by her four children, Karen Stuntz and her husband Jim of Roseburg, Oregon, Judith Bittick and her husband Jerry of Boise, Idaho, Cynthia Bittick and her husband Dick of Caldwell, Idaho, Dr. Eljorn Don Nelson and his wife Julia of Cincinnati, Ohio, seven grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at 4:00 PM on Friday September 26, 2008 at the First united Methodist Church in Roseburg, Oregon. Pastor Daryl Blanksma will be presiding. Private cremation rites will be held. Wilson's Chapel of the Roses is in charge of the arrangements.
