Doris I. Matthews

Our beloved Doris Matthews 93, of Lookingglass, passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2018. She was born May 8, 1925 in Vernon, Texas to Lloyd and Thelma Leonard, who are deceased. Her family moved to Umpqua, Oregon where she meat Ivan Matthews. They fell in love and married in 1945. Doris was preceded in death by her husband Ivan; brother Vernon and sister Melba. Doris and Ivan had two boys Clark and his wife Michelle and Rick and his wife Wyla of Roseburg; 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; three sisters Pat and Marion Rentz, Onelda and Mary Cagel; brothers Lonnie and Maggie and Lynn and Leslie. Doris worked in banking and was Operations Supervisor at Douglas National Bank. Mom loved to quilt and made over 500 quilts. She enjoyed camping and visiting around the campfire. Doris loved everyone that came her way and was loved my many. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 18, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Wilson’s Chapel of the Roses.
