Doris June Reddekopp Finley went home to her Lord on Friday May 6th, 2011. She was born to Cecil and Ida Caskey on February 17, 1936 in Hallsville, Texas, and resided in Roseburg, Oregon for most of her life. After graduating from Roseburg High School she went to work for Family Finance, later working for Local Loan for many years, before going to work for the Douglas County Assessors Office. She served two terms as the Douglas County Tax Assessor. Doris was active with her church, local and state politics, family and friends. She was a wonderful wife, friend, mother, sister, and grandmother. She was a remarkable person. Hard working and dependable Doris's energy and spirit inspired others. She was loving, caring, strong, and a confidant to many and "Aunt Dode" opened her heart to all, and always lived to help others. Doris loved people and animals, loved to travel, and now this time she has traveled to her eternal home where she will hear "Well done, my good and faithful servant." The family would like to offer their special thanks to the nurses and staff of Mercy Medical Center ICU who along with Dr. Townsend, and Dr. Gosman cared for Doris in her final days. We would also like to thank the pastors and members of Vine Street Baptist Church as well as all the friends, and neighbors who visited and sent their cards, prayers and best wishes. Doris is survived by her husband Charles Houston Finley; her son Ron Herman, daughter in law Navada Herman; grandchildren Kevin, Andy, Nicole; son Rick Herman, step-daughter Diane Shaw and grandson Kevin Shaw, step-son Mike Reddekopp and family. Also survived by her sister and best lifelong friend Lucille Cross; brother Charles Caskey; sister Wilma Barker; numerous nieces nephews, cousins and friends.
