Dorothy Hope Bassler

Mrs. Dorothy Hope (MacMillan) Bassler, age 66, passed away on Monday, September 17, 2018, from cancer, at home with her loved ones by her side. Dorothy moved to Sutherlin seven years ago from Merlzo, Guam, where she had lived for 25 years. She was born on February 2, 1952, to John and Eleanor MacMillian in Long Beach California. Dorothy attended Lakewood High School graduating in 1970. She was the Food and Beverage Manager for the Cocos Island Resort in Guam. Dorothy loved tropical Birds and owned over 150 birds for 10 years. She also enjoyed traveling and circled the globe twice overland. Dorothy is survived by her husband of 47 years, Paul; their son, Joshua and his wife Melissa; their daughter Myia Perez and her husband Joe; and their daughter Remolia Perez. She is also survived by her older brother John MacMillian; and younger sister, Carol MacMillan.
