Earl Leroy Jacoby

Earl Jacoby, age 80, passed peacefully on Feb. 20 to a bigger hunting ground. He was born May 6, 1934 in Lookingglass to Mary Thackery and Andrew Jacoby, the fourth of five children.
Earl lived in Lookingglass his entire life, attending Lookinglass Grade School and graduating from Roseburg High School in 1952. He served in the army, attaining the rank of sergeant. Earl worked in the lumber industry as a timber faller, retiring as a horse logger. Hunting for deer and elk was his biggest passion.
He is survived by his wife Dolores Doyle, whom he married 1956, his children Laurie and Doyle, four granddaughters, his brother Jim, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and untold friends.
To celebrate Earl's life, please join the family Sat. Feb. 28 at 2pm at the Lookingglass Church, 249 Coos Bay Wagon Rd. A pie social will follow at Lookingglass School gym. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Cancer Society.
