EDNA "EDDY" BERNICE FLORY 89, of Roseburg, Oregon stepped into heaven on Sunday, December 5, 2010 in a local hospital. She was born on February 19, 1921 in Oakland, California to Chester Hart and Mary (Williams) Doolittle. Eddy had a twin brother, Edward Bernard Doolittle as well as an older brother Mervin. She spent part of her childhood and teen years in Nevada City. Eddy attended Biola College and went on to the University of California at Berkeley where she med her husband of 54 years Robert Coffman Flory. They lived for a time in Buena Park, California where they raised 3 daughters. Later they moved to Fortuna, California. they settled in Roseburg, Oregon in 2000. Eddy loved reading, gardening, sewing and crafts. She was a gifted artist. Eddy taught a Bible study at the Samaritan's Inn through the Roseburg Rescue Mission. She loved her church family at Vine Street Baptist Church. Her desire was that everyone would know and love her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Survivors include her children Sharon and the late Robert Lewis, Kathy and Ken Kruse and Robin and John Prather; grandchildren Shannon and Rob Cogswell, Steve and Dorothy Lewis, Greg and Andrea Lewis, Kristina and Chris Martin, Kevin and Melanie Kruse, Jeffrey Brown, David and Anne Brown, and Phillip Prather; great grandchildren Sarah and Rachel Cogswell, Branimir Lewis, Callie and Hailey Kruse, Isaac and Logan Brown and Bradley Prather; many brothers and sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews. Eddy was also preceded in death by her husband Bob her brothers Edward and Mervin. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to the Roseburg Rescue Mission in her memory. Private cremation rites have been held.
