Edward "Ed" Childers

WILLIE EDWARD "ED" CHILDERS 90, of Roseburg, Oregon went to Heaven Thursday, November 12, 2015 at Brookdale (Manor House). He was born August 20, 1925 in Caddo, Oklahoma to Pearl and Bill Childers. On November 10, 1951 he married Helen Wigington. They were married 64 years. Ed became a believer in Jesus Christ as his Savior and Lord at the age of 60. He worked for Champion International Plywood for 30 years until his retirement in 1987. Ed loved church, working in his yard, bowling, taking trips and camping. Survivors include his wife Helen; 3 sons Steve (MaryJo), Paul (Julie) and Tony (Sheila); 7 grandchildren: Jody, Stephany, David (April) Childers, Jill (Derik) Miller, Stacy (Toby) Palm, Travis (Jennifer) Childers and Shauna (Chris) Stadler; 15 great grandchildren with 2 on the way. We would like to thank Sarah, the wonderful care givers, med-aids and staff at Brookdale for the compassionate care of Ed. We love you all. A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, November 19, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Roseburg Christian Fellowship, 1376 Walnut Street. Private cremation rites have been held.
