Eileen Helen Welty

Eileen H. Welty, age 94, passed away peacefully with her family by her side November 6, 2015. Eileen was born April 23, 1921 in Cherry Hill, Arkansas, but was raised in Mena, Arkansas. She was the daughter of William and Bessie Rostollan. Eileen is survived by her children Jean Rudzik of Albany, OR, Joan & Tex Adams of Mattawa, WA, Jackie Morgan of Tok, Alaska, Bill & Janice Welty of Lookingglass, OR, Barbara & Pat Fenton of Sutherlin, OR, Eileen & Jack Norris of Dillard, OR, Francis and Karen Welty of Dillard, OR, Chris & Joann Welty of Sutherlin, OR, Son-in law & Daughter in law John & Sue Hanley of Dillard, OR. Eileen had 18 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 34 great great grandchildren. She has nephews in Washington and Arkansas. Eileen was preceeded in death by her parents William & Bessie Rostollan, her husband Francis Welty, Sr, daughter Mary Hanley, brothers Alfred, Everett, Frank and James Rostollan, son in law Ralph Rudzik, grandaughter Karen Phong and grandson Greg Rudzik.
Mom was a member of St. Xavier Catholic Church and also a past member of the Alter Society.
Mom was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother and her family was her life. She enjoyed working in her flowers, which Dad would always call her weeds. She was the best cook ever, not fancy foods, just good down to earth good cooking. She also liked to crochet and everyone could expect to get pot holders for Christmas. Mom's door was open to everyone, anyone who came for holidays or to visit felt welcomed and a part of the family.
Mom was the foundation of our family and her leaving us will leave a hole in our hearts, but she is finally home with Dad.
a Rosary wil,l be Friday November 13, 2015 at 6 PM at Sutherlin Chapel of the Roses with Funeral Services at 9 AM Saturday, November 14, 2015 at 9 AM at St Francis Xavier Catholic Church.
