Elsie Sharp

Elsie Bryan Sharp lived 102 years, passing away 6 hours before her 102Nd birthday in Sutherlin, Oregon.
Memorial services will be held at 1pm, Saturday, July 29, 2017 at Calapooia Free Methodist Church with Pastor Stewart Fowler officiating. Arrangements are by Sutherlin Chapel of the Roses.
Elsie was born in Otto, Kansas to Paul Bryan and Ruth (Pettigrew) Bryan on July 21, 1915. She had various jobs including working as a secretary and at Boeing in Wichita, Kansas, where she met her husband Robert Sharp. They were married November 21, 1953; both her children were members of the wedding party. Elsie moved to Palisade, Nebraska for five years then she and her family moved to Douglas County in 1960 and settled in Oakland, later moving to Sutherlin. Elsie worked at Montgomery Ward in Roseburg until its closure in the mid 1980's. Then she started her second career as a water color artist. Elsie loved painting and even won a competition with her painting hanging in the rotunda at the State Capital. Elsie was known for her vibrant and outgoing spirit, she will be greatly missed by her family and her friends.
Elsie is preceded in death by her husband Robert Sharp and her son Donald Robert Robison, who died in Vietnam.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna Robison Bryan, her grandchildren, Laurie Robison, Don Robison, Renee VanAsten Kirby and Michelle VanAsten and her 5 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for donations to be made to the individual's favorite charity.
